For the final round of the eni FIM Superbike World Championship at Magny-Cours, Team Pedercini will be giving a chance to Claudio Corti to make his SBK debut alongside Alexander Lundh. 25-year-old Corti, from Como (Italy), comes in for David Salom. The first ever European Superstock 600 champion in 2005 raced in the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup for years, finishing 2nd in 2006, 2007 and 2009, and coming close to winning the title with Yamaha Lorenzini and Suzuki Alstare.

In the last three years Corti has been racing in Moto2 (his best result was a 2nd place this year at Le Mans), but he was also Superbike test-rider and official factory rider for Yamaha Motor Italia in 2008 when he raced in the Italian CIV domestic series.

Claudio Corti: "I'm really happy to be able to take part in this final round of the 2012 world championship and I'm even happier to do so with the Pedercini team, considering the great relationship I have with the Pedercini family. It will be my first ever World SBK race, but I need to take things one step at a time as it has been years since I rode a 1000cc machine. Salom's Kawasaki is undoubtedly a great bike and so I hope to be able to adapt quickly both to the bike and to the team. As far as the Magny-Cours circuit is concerned I have some good and less good memories. In 2005 I won the European Stock 600 title here but then in 2007 I lost the Stock 1000 title at the same track. I really like the track and cannot wait to get out there with team Pedercini's Kawasaki."
